The Handicappings of the Animal Liberation Movement

In why vegan you list a number of handicaps that the animal liberation movement has in comparison with other liberation movements. The members of the exploited group cannot themselves make an organized protest against the treatment they receive. Almost all of the oppressing group are directly involved in and see themselves as benefiting from the impression we eat meat, wear leather perhaps we use animals for labor. We have a diet but also a thought which lead us to brush aside descriptions of cruelty to animals as just emotional. So, these are indeed significant handicaps. And because a lot of people that we're speaking to don't see that there is a problem, these are very, very important things.
