This article was originally published on 4th November 2013 and has been updated with a correction by Linda Grant. We are happy to make clear that while Stephen Hawking's brief history of time sold 10 million copies over 25 years, it wasn't written by him or his publisher Bantam Books. In fact Professor Hawking threw out the book after he realised there was an error in one of its pages. And we will now move on to Good Morning Midnight by Gene Reese.
