The Advantages of Running Battles in the Theater of the Mind
Using a clear set of guidelines that we agree upon with our players about how to run certain battles without using any representation for miniatures or positioning. The scalability and flexibility is infinite. It takes up no space. We can describe anything we can describe we can use. There are definite disadvantages though. Certain players, certain people have a condition called Afintasia where they can't really visualize exactly what you're describing. But if you can for simple battles where they're just facing a few people, running into the theater of mind is very, very effective.
