The Environmental Challenges of Mining Lithium-Ion Batteries

Lithium is just one of the raw materials needed to make electric vehicle batteries. We're also going to need lots and lots of manganese, cobalt, graphite and nickel. And mining is an extractive industry with significant environmental challenges. Politicians never seem to want to talk about this essential part of the energy transition. It's past time for we the people to demand the truth so that we can prepare for what's coming.
