Social Entrepreneurship - What I Learned About It
Sally Kohn: I had spent two or three years in nonprofit working with the homeless. When I started getting into these circles, I realized there's other people who want to use business as a vehicle to help society and to do good. So when I met my co-founder, we ended up starting this after school education program for teams where we're basically teaching them life skills. We asked ourselves, is this company going to create a foundation for us financially? Yeah. Is it reliable or it can come? And we were just being honest and looking at comparable examples.
