When the juasic part of Drassic park was made, people did not generally realize that dinosaurs had feathers. There was an idea that dinosauls were related to birds, but there was no direct evidence that dino-birds had feathers. The skill in them, for the moving maker was to push the story along with sufficient speed and interest. So at the time, you didn't stop to question what doing about extracting dearnam from amber and putting it into eggs would do.
