Amazon and the Book Business

Amazon is not just one business, it's at a whole collection of businesses under one roof. And they funnel the profits from very profitable divisions like books back in the day into other divisions to build up new ones. So does Amazon make money? It's do they have divisions that are throwing up money and then investing properly in new areas that could drive growth in the long run? Now, the real thing about Amazon is that we already built the infrastructure for our store - so if you want to use AWS as your PR agency or whatever, there will be an enormous amount of free advertising coming out over time.
