Introduction

Teabor Ruitar is a professor of sociology at the University of Maribor, Slovenia. He is the author of Rational Choice and Democratic Government but his latest book is Capitalism for Realists, Virtues and Vices of the Modern Economy. Teabor: I was actually a very committed Marxist, both politically and intellectually. And then reading Why Nations Fail and Against Democracy, I realized, well, why not just use rational choice theory?
