The Miscarriage of Joy

Three giggling children were captivated by a happy little baby who had just discovered her foot. My heart instinctively knew that this was not a time for judgment, but rather a time literally for joy. I quickly made the needed adjustment in my heart because I had been pondering what it looked like to be gentle. Then joining with my mirthful mess-makers, we laughed out loud together on the bed at the amazing talent of our newest family member named Joy.
