Noise Pollution Isn't One of the Things That Come to Mind

The idea that we are constantly surrounded by sound is a blip in the history of humanity. We can think about noise, and it registers as noise, but not really as pollution. And so then the very term noise pollution, I think, forces us to rethink our relationship to noise.
