The present moment takes you into this pristine stillness where you can just behold everything and every one the same. And that's why jesus says, make this year different by making it all the same. He's just saying, let the holy spirit interpret the world for you. Because judgment was always difficult. Judgment was always very unnatural. But forgiveness frees us. It sets us free. It makes our mind ready for eternity. The most practical devotion could have, would be to forgive.
