The Importance of Community Colleges in Higher Education
The more our higher education conversation is focused on these schools, the more confused one would be about the rest of the system. I'd like to see community colleges receive more resources from federal and state governments because they are so important. If students from middle class and upper middle class families start going to community college and greater numbers, that will provide the political capital to make sure the funding, funding remains. And then at the elites, I'dlike to see, you know, that economic and racial integration as well.
