How I Learned to Love Journalism

I still remember the day at Tarong of Woe's College when I was sitting in English class and journalism was offered as a sixth form subject. And I thought, yeah, I thought that's me. Because I loved English and I loved things like geography and a little bit of history, hated maths. But certainly the written word and language was of huge interest to me. We had a famous newspaper called the Hills Dean Reflector - we correctly predicted the election outcome every three years. So fun days! Then moved into A.T.I. journalism school in 1989 under Jim Tucker and Jeff Black and Susan Boyd Bell. His name's in New Zealand journalism.
