The Story of Fan Man Yi

Fan man Yi's parents abandoned her when she was very young. She grew up in orphanages before finding herself doing illegal sex work and taking drugs to be able to survive. In 1997 at 21 years old she began working in a brothel rather than just on the streets. It wasn't a good job by any means, but it was a little bit more safe than being out on the street. Fan man Yi also gave birth to a son around this time.
