Dr. Crippen was convicted of murdering his wife in 1910 and sentenced to death by hanging. His remains were found in a coal cellar at Hildor Up Crescent, London from the crime. Forensic scientist John Truss applied DNA analysis to slides that would have been used as evidence during her trial. He identified three relatives who had mitochondrial DNA but it wasn't a match. The British refuse to accept the results saying they are invalid.
