Is It Just Apples or Any Food?
We each generate about one and a half litres of saliva a day. That is practically like a two litre bottle of milk, right? There are salivary glands all over your mouth that make chemicals to help digest food. One of the chemicals is called amylase which helps break down carbohydrates into glucose. Another experiment you can do is to get a little slice of lemon and stand in front of a mirror in your bathroom and then lift up your tongue. You will be able to see not one but two jets of saliva squirting out five, 10 centimetres and hitting the mirror. So there's all these weird things going on that we don't know in our society. We
