T-Rex and the Threat of Hunting
There are no large-bodied, publicly scavengers existing today. Even vultures when they're hungry, will kill things. There's no reason to assume that T-Rex were also active predators. They would have had a very good sense of smell but not as good as dogs or hyenas.
