Ivy was having a very chic liberal moment and like vampire weekend was a thing. It's one of the rare cases where we can really, really, really see it in action. These ideas about what is mainstream and what is respectable all come down to Preppy clothes. I remember my reaction because I looked at those photos and I thought, why the f*** would I want to bring back that style?
