The Three Anchorists
Julian of Norwich is a mystic, so she was in this strange, to me very captivating medieval tradition of being an anchorist. In her case, an anchorist is somebody who is literally often walled up in a church. And then Julian of Norwich, so this seems to be a vein of extreme practicalness running through these three of sincere practicality. The older I get the more I see that that's the truth, you can go all over the world and you can read everything in the universe, but you have to stay in your cell.
