Wake: A Novel About the Suffragette

It was a novel about the suffragette, it was about a young woman. A really lovely editor at Faber who was really interested in buying it but it didn't get through acquisitions. And that was really hard because obviously in retrospect, I can see what was wrong with it and I felt like, oh my God, what have I done? You know, here was this place of joy and pleasure and creative expansion and I've kind of brought it to the marketplace. It's been rejected having spent all these years being rejected as an actor and, you know, now what? This is the pattern of my life. Yeah.
