CHAPTER

The Unpalatable Absurdity of War in the Information Age

Postmodernism highlights the unpalatable absurdity of war in the information age. Being able to marshal data and make it meaningful, or being able to interpret or analyse is often lost in the maelstrom of accumulation and access. In the information age, there is a misplaced confidence in technology. Impressionable young people who live their lives online find connection and compulsion sufficient to get them into the conflict zone.
