Sidewalks labs was a company that brought together urbanists and really interesting technologists who were coming over the interesting ideas but executed in a way that in hindsight i think a lot of people were framed as dystopic rather than utopic they are sort of left rudderless in mid 2016 according to many folks that i spoke with. A year and a half later this project went to opening to a competitive process sidewalk labs wins the competitive process and now suddenly has the privilege of planning this neighborhood of the future on the Toronto waterfront.
