Lafayette - The Hero of Two Worlds

It was undoubtedly the high point of his life and career. As a young man, he had fought for the cause of liberty with the noble americans. Then he came home and fought for the same liberties for his fellow countrymen. He was fulfilling his destiny as the hero of two worlds. But we all now know that the fete de la federation was nowhere near the end of the french revolution - not by a long shot.
