The Importance of Prediction

I think it's a wonderful technique of predictions, but we're talking about pragmatism. We can't predict the weather for much longer than the next few days. It'd be very interesting if we could predict the data of our own deaths. But I need to think of the way that nuclear weapons are now developed in computer models rather than desert islands. And we can be pretty confident that when detonated, they will behave as predicted because we have immense computational power under our command. So we're pretty good at prediction, but we can't be told that silence fails because it cannot predict everything.
