S c c chair garry genser put out an oped to reiterate that security laws should apply to new technologies like digital assets. genzer also goes into the recent settlement from february, where the crypto lending platform blockfi agreed to pay a hundred million dollars in penalties. i think what was significant in this is that he said, fortunately, there's a path forward for these crypto lending platforms. But some people i spoke to were not very happy with this apet and said it was like a bland repackaging of the same cop on the beat montre.
