The Enlightenment in England

The idea of the state of nature, natural rights and government coming in as a convenience is familiar to all of us. A lot of things have changed since then, but this idea never really has died out. Government itself comes into the world to serve people and specifically to better preserve their natural rights. You see, it's not us who serve the government, it's the government which is there for our rights.
