The Nazis and the Disabled
Germany under the Third Reich began forced sterilization programs for the disabled in 1933. The Nazis believed that the disabled were a waste of valuable resources. Eugenics, the science of improving a population by controlling breeding and culling, was enormously popular in America at the time.
