The Importance of Math in Game Design
The problem most people have with our pre Jesus math, you know, in the end of the day, math is math. You're always looking to roll low in these games. The resolution mechanic is extremely simple and there's no other difficulty numbers. Like your target gets adjusted for favorable or unfavorable circumstances. So you can get like a plus two or minus one, but you're always trying to get that role to hit 11 or lower.
