Shahran and the Revolution in Iran
Shahran was part of Iran's educated left wing who had been opposed to the Shah. The revolution came about after combined pressure from left wingers and Islamists. It felt to many as if Iran's moment for a democratic revolution had come. As the revolution continued it became clear that the religious radicals were taking control. "Every day we were so worried about things that were happening in the country"
