Paul's Response to the Resurrection of the Dead in the Book of Acts
Paul's accusers do not have a strong case against him. The actions that he is being accused of are against his known character. He had very good reason to be in jerusalem as the bearer of the gift to the jerusalem christians. Paul underlines the importance of the absence of the jews from asia. Their absence as the people who made the accusation that first provoked the riot, is a very strong point against his opponents. It seems clear that luke wants his hearer to notice that it is really christ and his message that is on trial here.
