In the rise of communist ments, and marxism more more generally, marxism speaks to the reality of oppression. The upper classes basically just create and use religion as a way to to oppress people. Within then the marksa system, there is no real sense of sin or original sin. Andit so it has its own eschatology. By eschatology, we mean, at last things, what is the goal that you are looking for? People are oriented toward finding purpose in their individual selves. But we are also oriental toward finding broader purpose in history. We look for progress in history, because we need to be part of something bigger than ourselves.
