Archaeologist Charles phillips discovered the remains of a large ship in Sutton ho. When fully excavated it turned out to be 27 meters, or 89 feet long. A discovery like that was absolutely unprecedented in britain and really unprecedented anywhere outside of sweden. And just as it had been an easy landing point for invasions of anglo-viking vikings, likewise at sutton ho would be right in line of fire if germany invaded again.
