Queer Theory and Sexuality in a Microcosm
Before the 1990s, New York City was a place where these imagined worlds actually existed. Froyd's writing on sexuality also attempted to provide insight into how homosexuality develops. Queering means troubling, upsetting, subverting the idea of this kind of stable thing that we might call sexuality. And hence, Freud is so central to many queer theorists nowadays.
