Rejoice in the Lord Always

We have the ability to refuse to focus on toxic thoughts and choose what we think about. Paul starts off with an exhortation and ends his speal with an invitation. Rejoice is a volitional act, not an emotional response. We rejoice with our will. Gentleness descends on our souls when we cultivate an awareness of the nearness of god.
