Churchill and the Labor Party in the War of Independence

Atley had been part of the war cabinet since Churchill took office. He was the deputy prime minister. And I think in a way it's best to think of the National War Time government as Churchill plus labor, rather than the Conservatives plus labor. So labor was lined up with what was going to happen in post-war politics. It was a lot easier political territory for the labor party than it was going to be for the Conservative Party.
