The Role of Randomness in Generation
I recently saw a TED talk by Oscar Schwartz about poetry created by computers. People could be moved by a piece of poetry that was really well articulated, but when they found out that it was created by a computer, they were creeped out. You need to be upfront about what you're doing and people need to understand and get into it this with an open mind probably. It's the philosophical zombie problem, right? If it looks and behaves like a problem, passes the Turing test in every sense of the word. But in fact, it doesn't have the same humanness that I have. Then it does feel like betrayal.
