Do You Need a Diagnosis to Ask for Accommodations?

If you disclose to your boss, do you also have to disclose to HR or vice versa? If you're just disclosing to your direct manager and you can work things out with your direct manager that is finding the differences, they aren't legally held at that point. Until you are fully disclosed through the HR and EOE, then, you know, things can be denied. Do you need a diagnosis to ask for accommodations? If it's just between you and your manager and they're accepting of it, I would say no. When you go to the HR and you're asking for those direct written up reasonable accommodations, then yes, you do need a diagnosis at this time. Mm-
