The first series of the cartoon picked up right where the miniseries left off. The show aired on Saturday mornings between October and December of 1984. It served the important function of introducing new characters that would be added to the 1985 toy line. In an unexpected plot twist, season one ended with the Insecticons betraying Megatron.
