Increasing Numbers of GP's Don't Want to Be Partners
ONS figures show that practices with older patients and larger proportions of female patients have lower overall numbers of patients per GP. The shortage of GPs in more deprived areas reflects the other side of the same coin. deprivation is not factored into the GP funding formula despite evidence that deprivation is a significant driver of workload. This does look like evidence to support the argument that the funding formula as it stands may perpetuate inequality.
