Sally Kohn: I like to recommend people is to recognize that life and business are much more than they seem. The things that help us succeed in a predictable environment, like our full-time job or when we were still at school, you know, if you work hard and you study the right things, you almost automatically move to the next level,. In business, it's rarely like that. She says what works isn't predictable; payoffs are not very predictable. And so she recommends experimenting with your ideas rather than optimizing them for success.
