The Effect of Moving the Honesty Pledge to the Bottom of the Form on Cheating
Francesca Gino wanted to see if students who had one at the top of the report paper, which report more accurately, would be cheating less. The shredder at the back of the room was rigged in the way that it would only shred the sides of the page but actually keep the main body of the page intact. So because of that, the researchers could go back into the room after the student had left and take their work paper out of the shredder and see how many answers they got correct.
