Alcohol-Induced Ketoacidosis
Alcohol intoxication is a common reason for people to come to the ED. Most of these patients are going to be discharged after they sober up. Alcohol-induced ketoacidosis can also occur in binge drinkers with poor oral intake. Four things we should keep in mind when it comes to treating AKA: fluids, glucose, electrolytes and thymin.
