Google's Incentive Cycle
In the past, Google could only understand and parse out a piece of content to whatever X degree. That meant that if you wrote your average listicle, which is basically fluff, in my opinion, you would still rank. What's happened since then is we've looked at the content, like we don't really trust content anymore. We realize this content is bad. And now we're going back and saying, Hey, Google is your fault.
