Volcanic eruptions, especially big ones, potentially have worldwide climate impacts. The other thing that it might be relevant to is this idea of solar geoengineering. It's possible that volcanic eruptions are kind of the only sort of similar thing that we could possibly compare it to in terms of what might happen if we put various things up in our atmosphere to try and stop global warming.

Similar receptors are also found in squid, but there are differences that mirror differences in the animals’ hunting behaviours; while octopuses feel for their prey, squid pull things towards themselves before deciding whether or not to eat it.
