The Effects of Blue Light on Melatonin Production

Melatonin is part of the circadian rhythm so for proper melatonin production, it requires actually getting exposure to light throughout the morning. The ultraviolet wavelengths are important in helping to generate melatonin from the precursor trip to fan which becomes serotonin and then into melatonin. Now at night we're getting blue light, which is destroying or disrupting the circadian rhythm even further and causing the body to not secrete its melatonin properly. This alone can cause a serious either disease or just deficiency compared to how healthy someone could be otherwise.
