The company, sergeant major remembers being arned about the potential threat from rosville flats. They were told to go in there specifically and arrest the riders. I did expect when we went into the rossville flats to be fired at. The obviously proposition, rioting broke out, and that triggered events. Colonel wilford was under strict orders just to arrest the rioters but not to pursue them into the heart of the bog side. Although provisional i r a had removed all their weapons from the area, an armed unit had been left behind for defensive purposes.
