The Pilots Are Trying to Avoid Stalling in the Water
Co-pilot felt his stick shaker warn him of a potential stall. The captain had to try and figure out where the plane could go down. He reduces the flap setting from 30 degrees to 25 in order to reduce drag. But this is, of course, at also reduces lift.
