There are many historical reasons. There really is a mere Christianity, a core deposit of apostolic orthodoxy that has been taught and promoted over 2,000 years. Think about some of the hymns that you sing. We don't believe that the last good song to Jesus has already been written. And we should recognize that pervasive interpretive pluralism has always been a problem for everyone everywhere.
