The Debt Limit and the House Budget Cuts

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy says if Santos is convicted well he could ask him to resign but McCarthy needs every vote he can get. If a person is indicted they're not on committees they have the right to vote but they have to go to trial. A lot of noise around it and House spending cut proposals of course floating ahead of Friday's second meeting. Nobody seems to agree fully on whether those staff level conversations are actually about the debt limit.
