Accelerating Knowledge, a Response to the Acceleration of Knowledge
The encyclopaedia is both a contribution to that and a response to it. The word acceleratio appears later in the eighteenth century as a way of describing what's happening. In part fuelled by the incipient industrial revolution, in part fuelled by more and more things being published and printed. And i mean, just look at our lives.
